Research coordinated by Hermes Augusto Costa Awarded Honorable Mention

The study “Information and consultation of workers in multinational: impact analysis of European Works Councils in Portugal in the metallurgical, chemical and financial sectors" has just been awarded an Honourable Mention in the context of the 7th edition of the Manuel Lopes Award (in the category of “Studies and Research”).
Research project developed at the Centre for Social Studies (CES), University of Coimbra - Associate Laboratory, and funded by the Interdisciplinary Research Institute of the University of Coimbra, was coordinated by Hermes Augusto Costa and with the participation of Paula Reis Costa. Concluded in 2011, still this year a reduced version of this study should be published as a book.

About the Manuel Lopes Award:
Established in 2001 by the Ministry of Labour and Solidarity (Order No. 25260/2001, 2nd series of 11 December and restructured by Order No. 23 920/2003, 2nd series of 11 December), to honour Manuel Lopes, historical leader of CGTP, considering his commitment to implement collective hiring and its affirmation as an instrument of progress of the living conditions of workers and the dignity of work. The category of “Studies and Research” awards, for work in fields related to the organization of work, the participation of employees in businesses, vocational training, working conditions, safety, hygiene and health in the workplace, or the reconciliation of work and family life.
