Biography

Vitor Manuel Bairrada Murtinho (Ansião, 1964). Architect since 1088 by the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Lisbon, with work published in several journals on the specialty. PhD Degree in Architecture from the University of Coimbra. Since 1988, he lectures at the University of Coimbra, as full Professor at the Department of Architecture. His research interests cover areas as Theory and History of Architecture, Representation, Construction and Heritage. He has several scientific publications, being a researcher at CES since 2007. From November 2004 to 2006, he was the President of the Executive Committee and of the Scientific Commission at FCTUC Department of Architecture. From February 2002 to November 2009, he was the President of the Executive Council at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra. he was Vice-Rector of the University of Coimbra since March 2011 to February 2019.
