Pablo Pérez Navarro
Biography
Pablo Pérez Navarro is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science, Education, and Language, in the area of Moral Philosophy, at the University of La Laguna, and a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies (CES) of the University of Coimbra. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of La Laguna (Spain), with a dissertation on the category of performativity in Judith Butler's work, supervised by Professor Gabriel Bello Reguera. Part of his research was conducted at the Center of Lesbian and Gay Studies (CLAGS) at the City University of New York. His academic career includes postdoctoral fellowships at institutions such as the Carlos III University of Madrid, the Federal University of Bahia, and the Complutense University of Madrid. He has contributed to collective volumes and published in international journals on topics exploring the intersections of philosophy, gender studies, and biopolitics. He is the author of Del texto al sexo: Judith Butler y la performatividad (Egales, 2008) and Ordem e perigo: por uma deslocalização queer (Bellaterra, 2023). His research interests include queer bioethics, reproductive rights, and coalition politics in social movements. From 2022 to 2024, he led the [TRIALOGUES] project, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellowship that explored the notion of public order and its impact on emerging regulations of kinship relations, gender, and reproductive practices.
