Ana Guardião
Biography
Ana Guardião is a post-doctoral researcher at CES under the project ECHOES - European Colonial Heritage Modalities in Entangled Cities, and a researcher in the project The worlds of (under)development: processes and legacies of the Portuguese colonial empire in a comparative perspective (1945-1975). She got her PhD degree at the Institute of Social Sciences - University of Lisbon with the dissertation "Desafios coloniais na construção do sistema internacional de direitos humanos: os processos de descolonização no Quénia, Argélia e Angola (1950-1975)" within the Inter-University Doctoral Program in History (PIUDHist)). In 2019, she was a researcher at the Global Humanitarianism Research Academy. She holds a BA and in Political Science and International Relations and an MA in Political Science from the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities. Her main research interests are the interconnections between internationalism and imperialism in the 20th century, with a focus on humanitarianism and human rights repertoires and practices related to population movements and vulnerable groups.
