Roundtable + Guided Tour
Portuguese Architecture? Debate and Tribute to Manuel Graça Dias
May 16, 2019, 18h00
Museu da Arte Popular (Lisbon)
Overview
The exhibition "Physics of Portuguese Heritage. Architecture and Memory" aims to celebrate good examples of rehabilitation in architectural heritage, to reflect on the history of patrimonial intervention, to cross the subject with contemporary debates.
The third roundtable of the exhibition's parallel programme will be held on May 16 at 6:00 p.m, and will focus on the discussion of "Portuguese architecture" as a phenomenon that has gained increasing cultural, scientific and political relevance, generating controversy, as a tribute to Manuel Graça Dias, whose last work, the Teatro LU.CA, authored with Egas José Vieira, is part of the exhibition.
The event is co-organised by the Centre for Social Studies within the framework of the research project (EU)ROPA - Rise of Portuguese Architecture, POCI-01-0145-FEDER-030492, co-financed by FCT and FEDER.
