Pascoela Sunday. In contrast with the black of the landscape, the feisty colours of the Borlas parade.
«Wildlings» by Lynn Mylou, Tiago Cerveira, Rodrigo Oliveira, Doc. Portugal, 2018, 21'
Young people who found and built their homes in Pinhal Interior, Central Region of mainland Portugal. We came from the four corners of Portugal, Europe and some even crossed oceans to inhabit the abandoned farms, to rejuvenate the neglected fields and to reforest the degraded mountain slopes. We left our privileged city lives because today, in such an unbalanced world, that comfort zone no longer seemed quite right. In a few decades, most human beings will be living in cities, our day-to-day lives completely disconnected from the environment where there are varied species, plants and also trees that manage to live and thrive. In our modern lives today, we are too disconnected from Nature, and thus from ourselves. For this reason, to get out of the confusion, we invite and welcome all those who seek to re-establish a deeper connection with our environment. In everything we do, we believe in Nature as our source rather than some inexhaustible spring. We are not better or smarter or even superior to it. We are Nature. When she thrives, we thrive. When she fails, we fail. Nature doesn't need us, but we need her more and more. In this way, we redefine luxury by demonstrating the richness of our natural environment, the wealth of nothingness and the priceless beauty of the sun setting behind the mountains. We have replaced glittering jewels with glittering rivers. We exchanged the 6 o'clock news for the 6 o'clock sunbeams that then build a rainbow over the waterfall.
