Synopsis
A personal essay on a plant and all its cultural and economic ramifications: cocoa. Traveling through São Tomé and Príncipe, England and Brazil, the director walks between the past and the present, dismantling the schemes of European colonial oppression and investigating the possibilities of a fair farming and trade of the plant. In the various corners of the world, it is women who bring about change. An alternate history, which is a her-story (her story) and an understory (sub-story).
