Le travail invisible derrière le confinement. Capitalisme, genre, racialisation et Covid-19
Françoise Vergès
CONTRETEMPS - Revue de Critique Communiste
Overview
Françoise Vergès returns to the theme of women, men and invisible work and contrasts the confinement of the bourgeois population with the closure of people who work in sorting centres and warehouses, replacing and ordering, garbage collectors and cleaning staff, cleaning and sanitising, without the possibility of acquiring gloves or masks, without protection, accumulating new tasks at home, caring for children, teaching, under the constant threat of losing their job and income. The article does not forget migrants and refugees, sex workers, the homeless, carrying and living other violences that cause illness, constricting health.
